There's A Score To Settle, And This Is It!

Take a classic western and plant it on a council estate. Out of a taxi steps a violent, uncompromising anti-hero.

"I'm Shane" he said.

For one family he was an unlikely saviour. For the thugs who thought they ran the estate, he was something else.

A few words from people who've already enjoyed 'Shane'...

Raw, edgy and convincing. Destined to become a cult in it's own right.
Fiona Barlow

Shane rocks. Definitely a gaspingly easy read. It makes my guts wild and fills my blood with testosterone. I want to be Shane.
Nicos Tsogkas

Shane has a measured, cool tone but nonetheless it also hurtles along - I had to read it all in one go. There are breath-holding and gasp moments alongside well-observed, three dimensional characterisation. It is harsh and gentle at the same time.
Kay Wagland

Fabulous and edgy.
Dr. Vernie Balasubramanian

A grippingly real and driven narrative that explores morality by giving it a thoroughly bumpy ride. Excellent.
Paul Horobin

Haven't enjoyed violence like this since 'A Clockwork Orange'
Elma Curran

Fast paced and highly entertaining - definitely a good read

This book has you absorbed in the plot very early on, and the well-paced, Tarantino-like action doesn't let you down.

I do my reading in bed just before going to sleep and my eyes were getting sore because I didn't want to stop reading. It was an easy read because the characters cemented themselves in my mind and I didn't have to go back to remind myself who they were. I could picture the estate clearly.
Reg Wagland.

It was a great read, one of those that you pick up and can't put down. A cross between trainspotting / Russel Hoban / urban jungle meets Country & Western.
Anna Yelland.

I enjoyed reading ‘Shane’. My family and I had just enjoyed a trip on the London Eye on our last day in London when you handed me a copy. What a lovely ending to our holiday! I look forward to reading more of your work.

Just wanted to pass our thanks on to Tim for sharing his book with us on the South Bank during the summer. My friend Donna and I have just got around to reading it. We both did it in a day as it was so riveting and page turning. It's a great book and we look forward to reading Shane Dos. Thanks Gerry and Donna.

I must say thank you very much for a copy of the book. It isn't a book I would normally have read, but I shocked myself by really enjoying it. Some of it was a little difficult to read and I felt that the author hadn't yet found his true writing style. It was rather gory and violent but these scenes were very well written and suited the genre of the book. You extracted sympathy from the reader very well. I often felt rather sorry for Shane, despite his 'dark' background. The reader could really empathize with Lisa and Craig and I enjoyed finding out about their family life. My favorite character has to be the boy Billy. He gave the reader some much needed fun and relief from the main serious storyline. It was good how the reader was included into the grown-up talks in the book (so we were treated like adults and knew what was happening in the story) but we were also allowed to be a child - given an insight into the kids life and have some fun while reading. Billy was a great character and I enjoyed reading how he idolized 'Shane'. It was almost funny to read how accurately Tim had depicted this idolization as most children do this to someone. I was also pleased that Shane warmed to the child, this made him more human to the reader. I also enjoyed reading the bit when Billy sticks up for his mother - I thought it was written beautifully. Overall a great book, and I will certainly read 'Shane Dos'.

Hi have read tims Book Shane, a good read, the suspense was good kept me reading wanted to know what was going to happen next…. Who is he? I want to know more about Shane ..a good guy but a bad scary guy all in one.
Rosemary O'Donohue.

Read the book in two & a half days, which is a record for me, given that I was only reading it on the bus/tube between work, but relishing every second of the journey home. Great read. The backdrop of a gritty, hard, post-war, brutalist Britain reminded me of a few Richard Allen novels I read a few years back, though you may not find that a favourable comparison!? I liked the name Dalrimple, which I think is Scots?.. & the detail you put into the simple events like the Cafe scene, the trip to the supermarket, & the whiskey drinking. Nothing quite beats a glass of Jamesons ...or two!

My mother always said, if I fell in a barrel of shit I'd come up smelling of roses. That ain't true. But I am lucky. Only two things are really important to me. Love and creativity. Those two things are what I strive for and what I try to keep as constants in my life. Everything else is what I do to live, survive and have fun. I'm lucky because for most of the time I manage to balance the living, surviving, the creativity, the loving and the fun. And if everything else goes pear, I have always got the writing. It has helped me change, helped me survive and helped me love. Now that's lucky.
